Adverse Weather Procedures

Operational Conditions

ODR operates in accordance with University operational conditions: Normal, Condition 1 Reduced Operations,Condition 2 Suspended Operations, Condition 3 Closure. For current information regarding University operating conditions individuals should check their ASU email,  Emergency Preparedeness and Appstate Alert webpages.

If the University is operating under Condition 1,  ODR may be at reduced staff and/or hours. ODR will not be open during Condition 2 or 3. Access will be extremely limited during such condition and responses to communications and requests for rescheduling of tests will resume as soon as possible after the University resumes Normal operations.

Scheduled Tests During Adverse Weather

Because weather and road conditions often vary and can quickly change significantly in the area, the decision to travel must rest with the individual when choosing to come on campus. In the event of scheduled tests within ODR, students must communicate to ODR and the instructor if unable to make their scheduled test if classes have not been cancelled. It is up to the discretion of the instructor if a make-up or rescheduled test will be permitted; ODR is unable to excuse or require make-up tests due to weather related absences.

Morning Classes Cancelled

If classes are cancelled at the beginning of the day and then resumes Normal Operations at any point during the day, ODR will resume operations at the time classes will begin.  If the start time of a scheduled test begins before classes resume, that test is considered cancelled and must be rescheduled if needed.

Classes Cancelled During Day

Scheduled tests will not be proctored after the designated time of cancellation.

Test Rescheduling

Any tests which does not occur due to closure/cancellation will be considered cancelled. After consultation with the instructor, students may complete a Non-Standard Test Request to reschedule.
