COVID-19 Impact on Campus
ODR is committed to continue operations through Spring 2020 through telework in accordance with University guidance. We are expanding options for appointments and individuals may schedule appointments to occur via phone or Zoom.
Test Proctoring will not be able to be within the office. Please contact ODR via phone at 828-262-3056, email email@example.com with any questions regarding receiving approved accommodations within the new course delivery method.
We appreciate your patience during this time as we strive to ensure continued operations and safety to our community despite current restrictions.
Communicating with ODR
Individuals may still contact the office via phone and email.
During this period, mail will be unable to be received on a daily basis. ODR has added the option of receiving confidential documentation via Filelocker during this time. As a reminder, ODR is unable to accept confidential information/documentation via email due to the insecure nature of email.
Request for Accommodations
ODR will continue to review requests for Spring 2020 at this time. Due to the transition from in-person instruction to alternative course delivery methods, review of requests and determinations for Summer and Fall 2020 will be temporarily suspended.
Supports for Alternative Course Delivery
The Student Learning Center has created resources outlined at Keep Learning during COVID-19.
ODR has developed Strategies for Online Learning to support students with various disabilities within online courses.
Fall 2020 Incoming Students
ODR generally meets with incoming students to implement academic accommodations after Orientation and during the fall semester. Incoming students who have received an email indicating eligibility for reasonable accommodations may call to schedule an appointment (phone or Zoom) to review eligibility during Summer 2020. An additional meeting to implement accommodations may be requested when normal University operations resume.
