ADA/504 Coordinator & ODR Director

As the ADA/504 Coordinator, Maranda Maxey is responsible for the oversight of institutional compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as amended (2008), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other relevant federal and state laws pertaining to individuals with disabilities. 

As ODR Director, Maranda provides departmental leadership, oversight and strategic direction.

She serves as the primary contact for employees seeking accommodations within the workplace, physical and programmatic accessibility and handles concerns related to the provision of accommodations
.

Maranda joined the ODR Team in 2004.


 



Assistant Director

CM 200Courtney McWhorter

As an Assistant Director, Courtney  provides oversight  for  Coordinated Services (sign language interpreters, real time captioning, access assistants, etc.), and visitor accommodations.

Courtney is responsible for reviewing requests for accommodations and evaluating disability documentation, determining eligibility of accommodations and access needs, assisting individuals in identifying appropriate University resources/supports (including for student temporary impairments). Courtney also serves as a consultant to campus regarding the provision of approved accommodations, program, facility and course accessibility and inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

Courtney joined the ODR Team in 2009.






Assistant Director

HB 200Heather J. Backus

As an Assistant Director, Heather determines eligibility for reasonable accommodations, assists students in identifying appropriate University resources/supports, serves as a consultant to faculty regarding the provision of approved accommodations.

Heather serves as the primary contact for Auxiliary Aid Loan, Alternate Format of Materials and supervisor for Test Proctoring.

Heather joined the ODR Team in 2014.







Accessible Technology Consultant

MS 200Matt Sauthoff

As the Accessible Technology Consultant, Matt provides the University with leadership, education, training, and resources to promote and ensure the accessibility of web-based resources, content development, and learning technologies, etc. Matt provides primary oversight for alternate format accommodations, assistive technologies and ODR review of IT acquisitions.

Matt is responsible for reviewing requests for accommodations and evaluating disability documentation,  determining eligibility for accommodations and access needs, assists individuals in identifying appropriate University resources/supports. Matt serves as a consultant to campus regarding digital, content accessibility and resources, the provision of approved accommodations and the inclusion for individuals with disabilities.


Matt joined the team in 2020.






Administrative Assistant

AL 200Adriana Laws

As the Administrative Assistant, Adriana is responsible coordinating  the day-to-day operations for ODR. She acts as initial contact for ODR providing information regarding office processes related to requesting and utlizing accommodations. Adriana assists the office staff through workflow coordination, scheduling appointments, projects, management of departmental budget, and record keeping. 

Adriana serves as the primary contact for prospective families/students. 

Adriana joined the ODR Team in 2018.







Graduate Assistants

ODR graduate assistants primarily assist with test proctoring coordination, reception & appointment scheduling and office projects.
