Computer Labs
There are now close to 2,500 public workstations across campus. The largest computing facility is in Belk Library, which now has over 300 public workstations. Almost every academic department has computing facilities available.
Emergency Preparedness
The Office of Environmental Health, Safety and Emergency Management provides guidelines regarding emergency preparedness, guidelines, etc.
Office of Title IX Compliance
The Office of Title IX Compliance supports the University's mission of scholarship through the promotion of equity and access throughout the campus community, fostering an environment free of sexual discrimination and sexual harassment, including sexual misconduct and relationship violence.
Faculty and Staff Counseling
Counseling for Faculty and Staff (CFS) provides counseling, consultation, training and referrals for concerns that impact work. Most people use CFS because they have had difficulty solving a problem in their personal or work life and are looking for additional options and resources. Counseling for Faculty and Staff offers free, confidential counseling, workshops or referrals to faculty, staff and their immediate families. We offer consultation and training to managers and supervisors, program directors and department chairs.
Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Student Success
In support of Appalachian’s mission of scholarship—which includes instruction, research, creative, and service activities—the William C. Hubbard Center for Faculty Development fosters the professional growth of faculty through programs, services and resources that promote significant learning experiences for students. We invite faculty to use the center as a major source of information and support.

The Office of Human Resources is responsible for administration of HR policies and procedures; employement services; classification and complensation; benefit administration, and organizational development and workforce planning.

Ombuds Office
The Ombuds Office offers a confidential neutral environment and can help acquire perspective to think about and access a range of alternatives to various university concerns.
Parking
The University Parking and Traffic Department is responsible for providing parking services and traffic control for all faculty, staff, students and visitors to the campus.
The App State Psychology Clinic is a training and research facility that offers a full range of evidence-based assessment and treatment services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults with concerns about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning difficulties, stress, and anxiety disorders.
University Writing Center (UWC)
The University Writing Center (UWC) offers free services to students, faculty, and staff of Appalachian State University. Anyone who would like to discuss a piece of writing with an informed, sensitive reader is welcome. We are here to work with writers on a wide variety of projects: papers for academic courses; masters and senior thesis chapters; personal essays for job, graduate school, and law school applications; creative writing projects; grant or project proposals; and course syllabi. We work with writers at any stage of the writing process, from inventing topics to editing at the sentence level.
