Students Requesting Accommodations
Submit Request for Accommodations: Student Accommodation Request form should be completed for first-time requests. Generally, until both the request form and documentation are received, students will not receive a communication from ODR. If requesting additional accommodations for students already approved for other accommodations, the Additional Accommodation Request form should be used. If making a request on the basis of a temporary condition, please view information on support for those navigating temporary injuries/conditions. Submit Disability Documentation: Documentation meeting guidelines. Those with Service Animal or physical access requests may contact ODR for a meeting upon completion of the request for accommodations without submitting documentation. For accommodations within University Housing (including service animals or emotional support animals), additional requirements are outlined at Assistance Animals within University Housing.
Eligibility: ODR will email students regarding eligibility and the applicable next steps (which may include a meeting with ODR).
Timing: Students are encouraged to begin the request process as early as possible as approvals may take more time to navigate, depending upon their complexity. Generally, accommodations are not retroactive or applied to historical activities/tasks. Once the request for accommodations and sufficient documentation is received, every effort will be made to determine eligibility and provide related accommodations within 10 business days of submission. To ensure accommodations can be utilized within the current semester, students should complete the requesting accommodation process a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the last day of classes.
